Corio nominated for Offshore Wind Gamechanger and Health & Safety Awards
The Global Offshore Wind Awards celebrate innovation and excellence from across the offshore wind sector.
Corio picks up two nominations this year for Offshore Wind Gamechanger and Health, Safety and Well-Being.
Corio Generation has been nominated for two awards in RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind Awards, including the prestigious Offshore Wind Gamechanger Award in recognition of its innovative and impactful model for offshore wind project deployment.
The UK-headquartered global offshore wind developer, which is developing innovative, gigascale wind farm projects across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, was in addition nominated for the important Offshore Wind Health, Safety and Well-Being category for its ‘CORE’ health and safety culture programme.
The Offshore Wind Gamechanger award recognises exceptional innovations or contributions that have significantly impacted the offshore wind industry. Nominees must demonstrate and evidence a groundbreaking approach or technology, and the innovation must have made a substantial impact on the offshore wind sector, for example by improving efficiency, reducing costs or increasing energy production.
Since its launch in April 2022, Corio has matured its project portfolio to around 30 GW and strengthened its industry-leading position with a string of auction successes and major project development milestones.
Underpinning Corio’s success is a model of financing and deploying offshore wind which facilitates early institutional investment in new offshore wind projects and is matched with a global project delivery capability. The model is helping to accelerate global decarbonisation by bringing capital and delivery capability into offshore wind projects at earlier phases, in emerging markets as well as more advanced economies.
The Offshore Wind Health, Safety and Well-Being Award is for organisations that can demonstrate and evidence the positive contribution and impact of their health and safety programmes as well as a commitment to the continuous improvement of health, safety and wellbeing.
At Corio Generation, we are fully committed to providing and promoting a positive culture of Health, Safety, Sustainability, and Quality (HSSQ), aiming for zero injuries for employees and contractors and avoiding and minimising any adverse impacts on the environment and in the communities in which we do business.
Corio’s CORE culture programme is about putting HSSQ at the core of everything we do, with four important behaviours: Collaborate, Own, Respect and Engage. This helps our employees consider everything we can do in our daily tasks to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of those who work for, and with us, and to protect the environment and communities from harm.
RenewableUK, the host of the Global Offshore Wind Awards, is the UK's leading not-for-profit renewable energy trade association. The winners of the awards will be announced on 15 October 2024 at a ceremony in London, UK.
